L'Homme Ideal Eau De Parfum by Guerlain Fragrance Review

L'Homme Ideal Eau De Parfum by Guerlain (2016)

Notes:

Top: Almond, Bergamot, Spices, Lavender, Rosemary, Thyme
Heart: Incense, Vanilla, Bulgarian Rose, Cherry
Base: Leather, Tonka Bean, Sandalwood

Strength: Eau De Parfum
Gender Label: Masculine

As mentioned in my review of L'Homme Ideal Sport a few months ago, Guerlain's L'Homme Ideal fragrance collection is a line I'm a huge fan of! I own all four versions. I find them all to be very modern, unique and gentlemanly in their own individual ways and each fragrance proves to be a useful addition to my fragrance wardrobe. I've also got my fingers crossed hoping that Guerlain has plans for even more additions in the near future!

Anyway, enough gushing, let's delve into the Eau De Parfum edition of L'Homme Ideal, as I've found myself reaching for this one a lot to add some warmth to these cold winter months...

L'Homme Ideal Sport by Guerlain Fragragrance Review

L'Homme Ideal Sport by Guerlain (2017)

Notes:

Top: Almond, Spices, Aquatic notes
Heart: Neroli
Base: Patchouli, Vetiver, Tonka Bean

Strength: Eau De Toilette
Gender Label: Masculine
Perfumer: Thierry Wasser & Daphne Jelk

I think it's pretty safe to say that I'm a Guerlain fanboy. I have five of their fragrances in my collection (so far), I always get excited whenever I hear about a new Guerlain release and I'm a huge admirer of the heritage and history of the house, as well as their commitment to producing high quality fragrances.

The L'Homme Ideal collection are among my favourite offerings from the house and I own all four fragrances within it. Each fragrance offers a different take on that signature almond/tonka bean note and, in this review, I'm going to talk about the latest addition to the collection - L'Homme Ideal Sport.

Cinnamon: Sherbet Series 5 by Comme Des Garçons - Fragrance Review

Cinnamon: Sherbet Series 5 by Comme Des Garçons

Notes:

Top: Cinnamon, Cedar, Bergamot
Heart: Carnation, Benzoin, Saffron
Base: Teak wood, Vetiver, White Musk

Strength: Eau De Toilette
Gender Label: Unisex
Perfumer: Bertrand Duchaufour

Although I'm no stranger to the house of Comme Des Garçons, Cinnamon was the first Comme Des Garçons fragrance I purchased that belongs to one of their themed 'series' fragrance lines. CDG fragrance fans will be aware that the house have created many fragrances that appear to belong to a conceptual collection. The most famous of these collections is Incense: Series 3

Cinnamon belongs to Sherbet: Series 5. I'm not sure exactly how CDG describe the concept of Series 5, but to me (having tested all three fragrances in that series) it would appear that the concept was to create fragrances centered around an ingredient that is edible. The other two scents that are available in this collection are Peppermint and Rhubarb

La Fumée by Miller Harris - Fragrance Review

Notes:
Top: Lavender, Elemi, Incense
Heart: Cardamom, Coriander, Cumin, Geranium, Chamomile
Base: Cedar, Agarwood, Santal, Cade, Birch Tar, Amber

Strength: Eau De Parfum
Gender Label: Unisex
Perfumer: Lyn Harris

PLEASE NOTE: This is a review for the original La Fumée, not any of the fragrances that are part of the La Fumée collection.

La Fumée is beautiful fragrance centered around one of my favourite notes in perfumery, incense. La Fumée, translated into english, means "smoke", and that's precisely what you get with this scent.

8 88 by Comme Des Garçons - Fragrance Review

The scent of gold?...

Notes: Safraleine, Pepperwood, Curcuma,
Coriander, Geranium, Amber, Incense, Patchouli

Strength: Eau De Parfum
Gender label: Unisex
Perfumer: Antoine Lie

Comme Des Garçons 8 88 is undoubtedly one of the most unusual perfumes I've ever gotten my nose on. I use the word "unusual" in the most positive way possible. I knew that, when I first encountered this, I had to own it and make it my signature scent.
Like anybody who is thinking about buying a new fragrance should, I tested this out multiple times before finally making my purchase. These tests only made me want it more. I've had my 100ml bottle for almost a year now and I still love it just as much as I did upon first sniff.

I think you can probably guess where this review is going, but here's my take on this fragrance.
